Commissioner Stephanie Lynch represents District 7 in Shreveport, LA, where she serves as Vice-Chair of the Caddo Parish Commission, the 12 member governing body of the Parish (County) of Caddo. She is the first African-American female to represent District 7.
Commissioner Lynch represents over 21,000 residents in West Shreveport.
Her district is anchored by the Shreveport Regional Airport, the "Hollywood Mile" and beautiful Cross Lake.
Stephanie was elected to a second four year term in 2008, winning 70% of the vote over two formidable opponents by keeping her campaign promise to make government accountable to taxpayers and responsive to its citizens. As a result, her district saw over $20 million dollars in new business development and existing business expansion, creating much needed jobs and contract and vendor opportunities for local businesses.
A graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, with a B.S. in Business Administration, she is currently enrolled in an M.P.A. graduate program with a concentration in state and local government.
Stephanie spent nearly 20 years in the insurance industry working for major insurers. She is the CEO/President of GroundWorks Consulting, a general and public affairs consulting company. She is also a freelance writer and former weekly columnist for Gannett News (The Shreveport Times). Commissioner Lynch is writing her first book.
Commissioner Lynch's credits her parents, grandparents and city councilman with inspiring her to make a difference in her community through public service.
